Terms of Use

Echo provides live translation and captioning for audio, screen text, and nearby conversations. Translation quality and availability may vary based on language pair, device capabilities, internet connection, app permissions, third-party service availability, and whether another app allows its audio or content to be captured.

Echo may not work with all apps or all protected media. Some apps or content may block, mute, or restrict capture.

Echo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Weverse, Bilibili, or any other third-party apps or services that may be listed or opened from Echo. Third-party names and logos are used only to identify compatible services.

You agree to use Echo only for lawful purposes and only with content you have the right to translate or process. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, platform rules, and third-party app terms.

You may not use Echo to:

• Violate another person's privacy or intellectual property rights.
• Record, translate, or share content when you do not have permission to do so.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, abuse, overload, or interfere with Echo or its translation providers.
• Use Echo for emergency, medical, legal, financial, or other high-risk decisions where an inaccurate translation could cause harm.

Echo provides automated translation. Automated translation may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. You should not rely on Echo as the sole source for important decisions.

Echo may offer an auto-renewable subscription called Echo Unlimited.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Prices and included features may change where permitted by law. If a price or feature change requires your consent, Apple or Echo will request it before the change applies.

Echo may offer limited free usage. Free limits may change over time and may reset on a schedule determined by the app.

Echo may rely on Apple services, Microsoft Azure AI services, StoreKit, and other platform services to provide translation, speech recognition, purchases, and app functionality. Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Echo, including its design, code, branding, and related materials, is owned by Ben Shih or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in Echo.

Third-party names, logos, app names, trademarks, and service marks remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance in Echo does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or partnership.

We may suspend or terminate access to Echo if you violate these terms or if we need to protect Echo, users, or third-party services.

Echo is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Echo provides automated translation. Automated translation may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. You should not rely on Echo as the sole source for important, emergency, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ben Shih will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of Echo.

If you downloaded Echo from the Apple App Store, Apple is not responsible for Echo or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Echo. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement may also apply where these Terms do not provide otherwise: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

These Terms are governed by applicable law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless consumer protection laws require otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country or region.
